Positions Available
Product Manager
Cakewalk has a position open for a Product Manager to join us at our office in downtown Boston. Cakewalk Product Managers are responsible for designing new products, planning updates to existing products.
You are someone who:
- Loves software synths, and has been buying and using them for years
- Has a feel for what’s compelling about leading software synths, and why people buy them
- Has ideas about what kinds of instruments, or features of instruments, are missing from the marketplace today
- Enjoys patch programming and sound design
- Has led people and/or projects to reach specific goals
Responsibilities:
- Create high-level "vision" documents (one-sheet, PowerPoint, mock ad, etc.) and present these product visions internally
- Provide and maintain detailed product specifications for engineering, QA and documentation
- Ensure clear, transparent communication between all departments regarding your products
- Coordinate and communicate accurate product information to project stakeholders, ensuring that all information and editorial are technically accurate and reflect the products' vision
- Drive product development from inception to release
- Monitor, respond to, and initiate post-release activities regarding your products.
Candidates must possess the following:
- Two years of related experience in leading and managing any kind of project from inception to completion
- Proficient knowledge of products and trends in the pro audio / music instrument industry
- Experience with and interest in virtual instruments / software synthesizers
- Proficiency using standard software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Photoshop
- Excellent written and communication skills

Regional Product Specialist
Cakewalk is seeking a full-time individual to serve as a Regional Product Specialist.
Responsibilities:
- Provide education and information to dealer sales staff and potential customers
- Perform on-site product trainings and demos of Cakewalk products
- Installing company materials on store computers
- Maintaining store literature
- Submitting store status reports
- Creating and building relationships with dealer sales associates
- Product presentations at trade shows and events
Candidates must be familiar with Cakewalk products and their use in recording and music creating environments. Extensive knowledge of SONAR is a plus. This position requires an outgoing candidate who can build relationships with Cakewalk dealers and customers on a daily basis. Requires scheduled visits to stores for training of sales staff, maintaining in-store displays/installations and overall evangelizing Cakewalk products. Account territory coverage will require 50%+ travel.
Special skills required:
- Self motivated and willing to work non-traditional business hours
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Ability to play an instrument and create music using Cakewalk products
- Strong presentation skills to both small and large groups
- Strong knowledge of audio and MIDI

Senior
Software Engineer
Cakewalk is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Boston, MA. This position will require coding
on both Windows and Macintosh Platforms.
Candidates must possess the following:
- Strong C++ coding skills
- Strong OO design skills
- Experience working in a large code base as part of a team.
- Experience programming on the Windows Platform.
- Experience programming on the Mac OS Platform using Xcode Experience in MFC, and
STL.
Pluses:
- Experience with Audio plug-in architectures.
- Engineering experience in DSP.
- Experience with Video programming and APIs.
- Familiarity with digital audio and MIDI
- Music, Audio, or other media production skills
The successful candidate will work on new feature development, and bug fixing on
a variety Cakewalk's Applications and Virtual Instruments.

Technical Support Representative
Cakewalk is seeking full-time, customer-focused individuals who can
deliver high quality technical support and problem solving via telephone.
The ideal candidate is organized, responsible, and has excellent verbal and
written communication skills. Candidates should have an upbeat and engaging
phone manner. Troubleshooting experience with music software or in a music production
environment is desirable.
Responsibilities:
