DJ Shortee Tours with Playboy

SONAR user, DJ Shortee has been touring the US as the official scratch diva and resident DJ for the Playboy 50th Anniversary club tour. Shortee is performing at high profile events across the nation alongside countless celebrities, athletes, Bunnies and The Playboy Playmates. DJ Shortee has been acknowledged as one of the most diverse & technically skilled female DJ in the world. She is the first and only female ever to win the U.S.’s largest electronic music mixing competition, the Fever/Buzz Battle Of The DJ’s held at Nation (Washington D.C. – 1997). Her unique contribution to the art of Scratching & Beat Juggling earned her a spot as the only female DJ featured in Doug Pray’s award winning documentary SCRATCH (Palm Pictures).

Shortee has produced her own instructional DVD series “Shortee’s 101 & 202”, released numerous original albums and licensed her music for The World Cup, X-Games, and networks such as MTV, ESPN, CNN, and NBC. Her skills as a DJ and Producer have earned her rave reviews in publications such as Spin, Rolling Stone, NY Times, Washington Post, DJ Times, Venus, Vice, etc. as well as ranked in URB Magazine’s esteemed Next 100 (2001). Shortee has shared the stage with mainstream R&B acts Lil’ Mo & 3LW, Hip hop legends Krs-One & Afrika Bambaataa, along with Method Man, Dilated Peoples, J-5, X-ecutioners, Q-bert, Craze & many others.

DJ Shortee also frequently performs and records with her husband Faust, pictured with her above, as the duo Faust and Shortee. They recently upgraded to SONAR 3 for their next project.
