Rob King: Lord of Everquest

Paul Romero - Rob King

"My partners Paul Romero (left), Steve Baca and myself (right) have been using Cakewalk software since version 3.0, and let me tell you, the way it has evolved into SONAR is fantastic!

Our projects often have 200 or more MIDI tracks, and I find SONAR to be the most user-friendly software for huge scoring projects. This many tracks might seem daunting, but SONAR handles it like a champ. I love that you have access to the mixing commands right in the Track view. I group all of my instruments by section, which makes it easy to mix, and it keeps the creative process moving.

When it comes time to track the instruments SONAR's sync is always right on the money. I also often fly stuff back and forth from my Pro Tools rig and I have never had a sync issue.

Our latest project was the score and creature sound design for Everquest: Gates of Discord for Sony Online, an exciting expansion pack to Lords of Everquest which we also scored. Other recent projects include: Maximo Vs Army of Zin for PS2; Black9 for Xbox; and string arrangement & DXi synth lines for Chris Vrenna's remix of Cold's Stupid Girl (Interscope). Keep up the good work Guys!"
