Loading Wavetables

Step 3. Loading Wavetables

  1. Intialize the current program and save it to an available location (select 'Initialize' from the Options button, bottom right)
  2. In the Oscillator section, select 1 (Oscillator 1) and set Wave to 'Vintage Saw 1'
  3. Select Oscillator 2 and set Wave to 'Vintage Saw 1'
  4. Set Transp (Transpose) to '+7' for extra fatness! (Oscillator 2 only!)

Add a Lowress Resonant Filter

Step 2. Add a Lowress Resonant Filter

  1. In the Filters section, set Type to '36 dB/Oct LPF'
  2. Set Cutoff to the default postition (midway) by double-clicking (which is about 542.27 Hz)
  3. Set Reso (Resonance) midway, to about 3.40 dB
  4. Set Level to '100%'

  1. In the Envelope Generators section, select 1 (i.e. EG 1)
  2. Set the ATT shape to the 'slow curve' position by clicking twice
  3. Set Attack time to '2.88 s'
  4. Set Amount to about 60%
  5. In the top row of the Modulation Matrix section, set Source to 'EG1', Range to the maximum (i.e. far right), Destination to 'All Filters Cutoff'

Step 4. Create Pitch LFO Modulation via Mod Wheel

  1. In the Low Frequency Oscillators section, select LFO 1
  2. Set Wave 1 to 'Sine'
  3. Set Sync to '1/2'
  4. In the second row of the Modulation Matrix, set Range to '75%', Curve to 'Pitch 1S', Control to 'Mod Wheel' and Destination to 'All Osc Pitch'

Step 5. Adjust Portamento and Polyphony

  1. In the Oscillators section, click the GL button (to adjust Global oscillator settings)
  2. Set Porta Mode to 'Norm, Fix'
  3. Set P.Time (portamento time) to 0.25 sec to 4. In the Master section, set Poly to '1'

    Lead sounds usually play only one note at a time, useful for synth lead motifs with a subtle pitch glide between notes.

Add Delay Effect

Step 6. Add Delay Effect
Finally, no lead is complete without a nice delay!

  1. In the Master section, click on the Effects button to display the Effects panel
  2. In the Delay section of the Effects panel, set Mode to 'Stereo Delay'
  3. Set Sync to '1/2 d'
  4. Set feedb (feedback) to '50.0%'
