1) [SPS-66 and SPS-25] I’m having trouble installing the SPS hardware.
Note: DO NOT connect your SPS-66 (or SPS-25) Hardware to your computer until you are instructed to do so by the onscreen dialog. Connecting your unit prematurely could disrupt the driver installation process. If you connected the SPS-66 Hardware prematurely, disconnect it and uninstall the driver by double-clicking the UNINSTAL.EXE program in the Hardware/Edirol FA-66/Driver/XP_EN folder on the installation CD.

First, make sure you download and install the latest driver for the SPS-66/SPS-25 located here:

To install the latest driver after installing the driver from the CD, please follow the instructions below:

Updating to the latest Windows XP Drivers (Firewire)
  1. Create a Temp folder.
  2. Download the appropriate driver, for your Power Studio audio device, into this folder.
  3. Extract all the files into this folder.
  4. Disconnect your audio device.
  5. Double click on the setup.exe file.
  6. Click Uninstall, to remove the current driver.
  7. Click Next to continue.
  8. Click Install to install the updated driver.
  9. Follow the instructions in the dialogs and refer to the quick start manual that came with your audio device, if necessary.
  10. Once the installation is finished, launch SONAR Power Studio and go to Options | Audio | General and click Wave Profiler button. This will update your audio settings.

 

Updating to the latest Windows XP Drivers (USB)

  1. Create a Temp folder.
  2. Download the appropriate driver, for your Power Studio audio device, into this folder.
  3. Extract all the files into this folder.
  4. Disconnect your audio device.
  5. Double click on the Uninstal.exe, to remove the current driver.
  6. Restart when prompted.
  7. Double click on the Setup.exe file.
  8. Follow the instructions in the dialogs and refer to the quick start manual that came with your audio device, if necessary.
  9. Once the installation is finished, launch SONAR Power Studio and go to Options | Audio | General and click Wave Profiler button. This will update your audio settings.

 

Using Vista Drivers with SONAR Power Studio* (Firewire)

  1. Create a Temp folder.
  2. Download the appropriate Vista driver, for your Power Studio audio device, into this folder.
  3. Extract all the files into this folder.
  4. Disconnect your audio device.
  5. Double click on the Uninstal.exe, to remove the current driver.
  6. Restart when prompted.
  7. Double click on the Setup.exe file.
  8. Follow the instructions in the dialogs and refer to the quick start manual that came with your audio device, if necessary.
  9. Once the installation is finished, launch SONAR Power Studio and go to Options | Audio | General and click Wave Profiler button. This will update your audio settings.

 

Using Vista Drivers with SONAR Power Studio* (USB)

  1. Create a Temp folder.
  2. Download the appropriate Vista driver, for your Power Studio audio device, into this folder.

  5. Double click on the Uninstal.exe, to remove the current driver.
  6. Restart when prompted.

*NOTE: The SONAR 5 Power Studio software is not officially supported on Windows Vista

2) [USB Music Pack] I’m having trouble installing the USB Music Pack with Music Creator.

First download and install the latest driver for the USB Music Pack here..

Note: The USB Music Pack interface will only work under Windows 2000 and XP. It will not install or work properly under Windows Vista. If you have Windows Vista and need a compatible interface, please look into the Edirol UM Series MIDI interfaces, which are Vista compatible.

Once you have download the USB_Music_Pack_Driver.zip file, double click to open it, then open the Readme_E.htm file which will have detailed instructions for installing the driver properly.

3) [REAC] Why isn’t the SPS/FA-66 appearing in the ASIO Device List? If an audio device does not appear in the REAC Panel Output Monitor ASIO Device list, ensure that the SPS/FA-66 is connected, powered on and is set to the correct sample rate. If the sample rate on the SPS/FA-66 needs to be changed, follow the steps below:
  1. Close SONAR
  2. Turn the SPS/FA-66 off. You do not need to disconnect it from the PC.
  3. Change the sample rate on the SPS/FA-66.
  4. Turn the SPS/FA-66 on.
  5. Start SONAR 
  6. Open a project You do not need to restart your computer in order for this change to take effect.
