Live! Or PCI (various models)

Click Options | Audio | Advanced.  Set your Driver Mode to MME – 32 bit.  If you don’t see “Driver Mode” then check the box next to “always use mme interface.” Click OK and restart the program.  Allow the Wave Profiler to test your hardware upon reopening. 

Next, click Options | Audio:

On the Drivers tab:

Make sure your Creative card is selected under both inputs and outputs.  Deselect any other drivers that may be in the list.  If you make any changes, click OK and restart the program. 

On the general tab:

Make sure one of your Creative card drivers is selected as Playback Timing master.  Click OK.  Restart the program if prompted. 

Audigy, Audigy 2 (various models)

Click Options | Audio | Advanced.  Set your Driver Mode to WDM/KS.  If you don’t see “Driver Mode” then UNcheck the box next to “always use mme interface.” If you make changes, click OK and restart the program.  If prompted, allow the Wave Profiler to test your hardware upon reopening. 

Next, click Options | Audio:

On the Drivers tab:

Make sure your Audigy card is selected under both inputs and outputs.  Deselect any other drivers that may be in the list.  If you make any changes, click OK and restart the program. 

On the general tab:

Make sure one of your Audigy card drivers is selected as Playback Timing master.  Click OK.  Restart the program if prompted. 

If problems or error messages persist, repeat the instructions but choose MME 32-bit as your driver mode instead of WDM/KS. 

Note:  While there are ASIO drivers for most Audigy sound cards, we recommend using WDM.  Audigy cards lock at a 48 khz sample rate when in ASIO mode.  This means you will only be able to record and play audio at 48 khz.  Audio recorded at other sample rates will not play.
